Choosing a finish for your photo

For a finished piece on the wall
Choose a framed matte print when you want the paper, frame, glazing, and hanging hardware in one order. The paper has a matte surface, while the acrylic glazing can still reflect light. Think about nearby windows when choosing where to hang it. An optional mount gives the photograph a border and separates it visually from the frame.
For a frame you already love
An unframed matte print lets you keep an existing frame or choose your own. Measure the opening carefully and account for any overlap from the frame or mount. Compare that measurement with the available image sizes before ordering. A fine art paper print needs suitable framing and handling; it is not a stretched surface.
How this differs from canvas
Canvas uses a fabric surface, often stretched over a support. Our photographs are printed on 200gsm enhanced matte art paper instead. If you prefer the look of a paper photograph behind glazing, the framed matte option is the relevant choice here. We do not sell canvas. Check the actual material and finish when comparing shops rather than relying on the phrase “wall art”.
